Useful Numbers & Contacts

1 Police & Security

1a. Emergency

  • Emergency (life at risk, crime in progress): 999
  • Non-emergency police: 101
  • Crimestoppers (anonymous tip-offs): 0800 555 111

1b. Reporting suspicious activity (non-emergency)

If you see something that doesn't feel right but isn't an immediate emergency — a stranger watching a neighbour's house, a vehicle circling the street repeatedly, someone trying door handles, an unfamiliar person in a communal hallway, or activity that looks like it could be a burglary being planned — report it. You don't need to be certain something criminal is happening; the police would rather hear from you. Provide what you saw, where, when, and a description of people or vehicles (including registration if safe to note). Reports help the local team build a picture of what's happening and deploy officers where needed.

1c. Local Policing — Stanley Ward

Our streets fall within Stanley Ward, one of 18 wards in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The ward has a dedicated Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) of Met Police officers who work with residents on local crime priorities including burglary, robbery and vehicle crime. Contact them to raise persistent local problems, discuss concerns or find out about ward panel meetings where policing priorities are set.

The best way to contact the SNT is by email. The phone number below is for general SNT enquiries only — it is not a reporting line and is not manned 24/7. To report a crime, always use the Met Police website, call 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).

1e. Met Engage — sign up for local alerts

Met Engage is a free community messaging service run by the Metropolitan Police. Once registered, you receive email updates about crime, policing activity and safety advice specific to your ward. It also lets you feed back on local policing priorities, helping the SNT focus on the issues that matter most to residents. We encourage all residents to sign up.

1f. RBKC Parks Police

Uniformed constables with police powers patrolling parks and open spaces across the borough, including St Luke's Gardens. Contact them for anti-social behaviour, drug use, dog-control issues, byelaw breaches, vandalism, rough sleeping or safety concerns in St Luke's Gardens or any other RBKC park.

2 Health & Emergency

  • Emergency (life-threatening): 999
  • NHS non-emergency (illness, injuries, suspected poisoning or ingestion of chemicals or harmful substances): 111
  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital: 020 3315 8000

3b. Streetline (street-level problems)

Single point of contact for most street-level problems. Available 8.30am–5.30pm.

Use Streetline to report:

  • Roads & pavements — potholes, broken kerbs, damaged guard rails, loose paving
  • Broken or faulty street lights
  • Flood water on the road or pavement unable to drain due to a blocked gully (phone 020 7361 3001, 8.30am–5.30pm)
  • E-bike / e-scooter obstruction (blocking pavements or parking bays) — also report directly to operators (Lime, Dott) via their apps
